Project 1 Essay Reflection

So I turned in my Project 1 Narrative essay in my Word 110 class. I chose to write about the Student Center at the University of Kentucky. I haven’t decided how I feel about the paper. It had some good attributes and a few things that I wish I had put more effort towards.
I wrote the paper as a comparison between UK’s student center and the student center at Western Kentucky University as it was 20 years ago. I don’t think anyone else wrote from that perspective. I liked that my paper was from a personal point of view and based on my prior experiences. I didn’t want an essay that was more a technical paper that was bogged down with statistics and facts. I felt my paper was a good example of a narrative.
Things I wish I had done better included having someone proofread it. I noticed several issues with the grammar and punctuation as I was turning it in. Proofreading could have prevented those unnecessary errors and I may have realized that I forgot to put a title on the paper. I also wish that I had more time to explore and spend more time observing the different areas of the building. Perhaps by spending a couple hours on each floor, I would have gotten a more in depth feel for what the student center was like at different times of day.
Overall, I’m happy with the content of my essay though I would have preferred a better presentation.
